RACE WEAR (MD) RACER RESIN 2010

REGIONAL RACE

NOTE:  DATES OF RULE CHANGES, IF ANY, WILL BE DOCUMENTED HERE

 DATE/TIME (all times Eastern):  Saturday, September 11, 2010 

A Racer Resin regional race will be held at Race Wear, in Glen Burnie, MD.  Track opens 8am for practice.  Tech inspection will start at 11am with racing starting at about 1pm.    Following the conclusion of this race, a Racer Sideways Daytona Prototype regional will be run.

ELIGIBLE CARS:

Any Racer Resin brand car, kit or RTR, is allowed.  Kits must be complete with all the parts that come in the kit.  As new cars are introduced they will become eligible.  Click this link for example cars:

GENERAL:  Any Racer or Slot.IT part can be used with exceptions noted below, see "CHASSIS" and "MOTOR" sections for example.  If the rules stated on this page do not indicate a part or tuning method IS allowed, it is NOT allowed.

THE BODY:

Bodies must not be modified or cut in any way, exception being thinning the resin for tire clearance.   Kit cars must have numbers showing on front and sides of the body.  Cars must start each race with all parts intact except for mirrors, wipers and antennas.   All cars must start with rear wing in place, if it comes on original model. Bodies can be painted.  Bodies must be attached to chassis using provided screws in stock location. If body screws are run loose, tape must be placed over holes in bottom of chassis. Car must have interior, only Racer interiors (lexan or resin) FOR THE SPECIFIC MODEL CAR BEING RACED are allowed.  No Slot.IT interiors are allowed.  Windows must remain transparent.

CHASSIS:

Racer chassis only w/Slot-it motor pods.  NO TRACTION MAGNETS.  No Slot.IT or other suspension of any kind allowed.  Inline & sidewinder motor pods only, standard or offset.  Sanding edges of motor pods and chassis for float is legal.   No modifications to axle mounts front or rear is permitted.  Front axle ride height adjusting blocks must be in place if included in original model.   Axle shims and/or stoppers are allowed. 

WHEELS AND TIRES:

Racer or Slot.IT wheels must be used.  Slot.IT F1 wheels not allowed.  The correct inserts for the Racer car must be used, therefore if using Slot.IT wheels, you must fit Racer inserts into them. 

Approved rear tires are:  Slot.IT SIPT03, SIPT06, SIPT17, SIPT18.  Indy Grip #2201, #2086, #3003 , #4008, #4009.   Slot.IT Zero grips or stock Racer tires can be used on the front.  Rear tires may extend past body by no more than 1mm.  Original inserts for the car being raced must be used but may be painted.  No chemicals may be used on the tires.

GUIDE BLADES/BRAID:

Any Slot-it or Racer guide blades are allowed.   Any manufacture braid and wire can be used-must be attached to guide through Slot-it eyelets and may not be glued or soldered.

MOTOR:

Only Slot-it "Orange endbell" motor is legal (21,500 rpm @ 12volts), supplied by race host on race day.  You will use your own Slot.IT pinion, as motor will not have pinion installed, and must be returned to race host after conclusion of the race.  Any Slot-it pinion may be used.  No chemicals (ex: Voo Doo drops, etc. ) shall be added to the motor.  Tape for holding the motor in place, if desired, will be supplied by race host at the time of tech inspection. Only this tape will be allowed and it will be applied during tech under tech supervision. One (1) piece applied uniformally (an example will be shown on race day) shall be allowed for the sole purpose to hold the motor in place. Holes may be cut out of the tape to allow for cooling over the motor vent holes. No foreign substance(s) and/or objects shall be allowed to hold the tape down or to be placed under the tape as well.   The race director will have the final determination if any questions or conflicts arise.

GEARING:

Any gear ratio is allowed using Slot-it gears, which must be provided by the racer.

WEIGHT:

Weight may be added to the inside of the chassis.  NO weight may be attached to the underside of the chassis.

LIGHTING:

May be added. (Optional) If used must be Slot-it brand.
