RC REFURB SCX LMP 2010 REGIONAL RACE RESULTS
The RC Refurb, Etc. SCX LMP Regional Championship race was run on Saturday, 9/18/10. Most of the cars in the field were the Pro Audi, although a few racers ran competitively with the non-Pro Peugeot 908. Racing was no-magnet, motors were handout RX-42B, tires were Indy Grips, and any SCX stock or Pro wheels and gears were allowed.
Don Johnson was top qualifier, and he was seeded in the middle of the running order, so that the higher qualifiers raced together in the round robin format, 7 minute race segments. In the first segment, Robert Holt got off to a good start posting 20 laps on the outside red lane. But that was immediately topped by Don Johnson's 21 in the next segment.
At the end of the first 4 segments, Holt had the lead with 80 laps, 19 track segments. As Don Johnson completed his last segment, he took the lead with 81 laps, 140 segments, not far from completing another lap on the big, 8' x 56' RC Refurb Scalextric track.
As the rotation continued, nobody was able to top Don's mark, and he's the 2010 SCX LMP RC Refurb, Etc. regional champion. There was some good, competitive racing to fight for the remaining spots to qualify for the North America final, here's the results, some pictures hopefully to follow.
