RACER RESIN FERRARI 250LM SERIES RULES

 

A three race, non-regional series featuring the Racer Resin Ferrari 250LM car.  Points allocated for each race per following:

1st - 100 pts

2nd - 90 pts

3rd - 80 pts

4th - 70 pts

5th - 65 pts.

6th - 60 pts

7th - 55 pts

8th - 50 pts

9th - 45 pts

10th and lower - 40 pts

Trophies and prizes to be awarded at final race.

Two out of each racer's 3 best points finishes will be counted toward the series championship, to allow for a single poor performance, or a racer not being able to make one of the events.

DATE/TIMES (all times Eastern): 

- SATURDAY 6/19/2010, at GTSLOTS, Philadelphia:  Track open from 10:00am for practice, racing to start 1pm. 

- SATURDAY 7/10/2010, at RCR/TPR, Willingboro, NJ:  Track open at conclusion of 1pm "In Store Sideways Series" race, Racer Ferrari 250 LM racing to start 5pm.

Track opens 2pm, Racing to start 5pm.

ENTRY FEE:  $10.00 (for race host and end of series prizes)

ELIGIBLE CARS:

This series was designed to race only the Racer Resin Ferrari 250LM car.  Kit or RTR, is allowed.  Kits must be complete with all the parts that come in the kit, except when using Slot.IT wheels, tires, and axles.  A limited amount of loaner cars will be available to use.  See example pictures below, since there are detail variations released from Racer, your model may look slightly different:

THE BODY:

Bodies must not be modified or cut in any way, exception being thinning the resin for tire clearance.   Kit cars must have numbers showing on front and sides of the body.  Cars must start each race with all parts intact except for mirrors, wipers and antennas.   All cars must start with rear wing in place, if it comes on original model. Bodies can be painted.  Bodies must be attached to chassis using provided screws in stock location. If body screws are run loose, tape must be placed over holes in bottom of chassis. Car must have interior made for the Racer Ferrari 250LM.  Lexan or resin interior is allowed.  Windows must remain transparent.

CHASSIS:

Racer chassis only w/Slot-it motor pods.  NO TRACTION MAGNETS.   Inline & sidewinder motor pods only, standard or offset.  Sanding edges of motor pods and chassis for float is legal.  No magnetic or spring suspension allowed.  No modifications to axle mounts front or rear is permitted.  Front axle ride height adjusting blocks must be in place.  The complete interior for the Racer Ferrari 250LM must be used (lexan or resin allowed), no modification or lightening is allowed.  Axle shims and/or stoppers are allowed.

WHEELS AND TIRES:

Racer or Slot.IT wheels must be used.  Slot.IT F1 wheels not allowed.  The correct Racer Resin Ferrari 250 LM wheel inserts must be used, and can be painted.  Any Slot.IT silicone tire (except F1) or Indy Grip P/N 3003 tires allowed on rear.  Slot.IT Zero grips or stock Racer tires can be used on the front.  Rear tires may extend past body by no more than 1mm.   No chemicals may be used on the tires.

GUIDE BLADES:

Any Slot-it or Racer guide blades are allowed.   Any manufacture braid and wire can be used-must be attached to guide through
Slot-it eyelets,  and may not be glued or soldered.

MOTOR:

Only Slot-it "Orange endbell" motor is legal (21,500 rpm @ 12volts).  Any Slot-it pinion may be used.  No chemicals can be applied to the motor, oil may be used on the motor shaft bearings.  You will be using your own motor.  Motor of top 4 finishers to be RPM checked after the race.  Motors exceeding 24,000 RPM will result in driver disqualification.  Driver may request RPM check prior to race, after which car will be impounded until race start.

GEARING:

Any gear ratio is allowed using Slot-it gears

WEIGHT:

Weight may be added to the inside of the chassis.  NO weight may be attached to the underside of the chassis.

LIGHTING:

May be added. (Optional) If used must be Slot-it brand. 

IF THE ABOVE RULES DO NOT INDICATE A PART IS ALLOWED....IT IS NOT ALLOWED.
